fl de tycker inte alls haldex-bilar beter sig som 4wd Torsen vs. skillnad fram och bak så bra men haldex och torsen är en annan konstruktion. Kört tusentals mil med quattro (torsen) med helt olika däck fram och bak.

Torsen is ALWAYS AWD and the Haldex is normally 2WD unless slippage is detected and then the drive is made available to all 4 wheels (so part-time AWD) With ESP off, Torsen sends the drive in it's default settings (I think) Where as Haldex will sense and split the power/torque. You have a Torsen center diff. You either got taken by the service writer, or they were just Touareg ignorant. All other modern VW's in the US, aside from the Touareg and Phaeton, use a Haldex system. Either way, I would be asking for an explanation and my money back

That’s why most sportsman drivers stick to clutch pack LSDs… very durable, cheaper, and predictable feel. Excellent daily drivers and good at the strip. The main difference between torsen and haldex is that the haldex has stock two open differentials and no centerdiff making it a.. Less tractionable system so to speak. The torsen setup has a torsen (self locking mechanical differential) which makes it find traction where there is little. As far as I know the only Haldex Quattros are A3s and S3s (some early TTs?), the rest (á la A4) are torsen permanent 4WD. 2004 Audi A4 Avant 1.8T S-Line spartacus 68 they have the Haldex-clutch, located just before the rear axle.
